Part 8
She sat there, just stared at me for a bit. She looked away. I asked, "A friend?" She didn't look at me. She said "Best one any of us ever had." She looked at me again, tears on her face. She said, "Do you remember me? Emma?" All of the sudden it started coming back to me, I blacked out and all of these images in my head started rushing around. Images of me and Emma, talking, hanging out. I woke up. "Emma!" I looked at her, she was different. She looked just like she did in eighth grade. "Tim! Are you ok?" She said. "I feel fine." I got up, my head was throbbing. I told Emma, "You look different. Go look in the lake." She walked, looked and came back. "Neat." was the only thing that she said after that. I looked at her, and I noticed that her arm was bleeding. I pointed to it, "What happened there?" She looked, "Oh, I ran through some bushes back there, got a couple more on my legs and my stomach." I rolled up her sleeve and put my hand on it; as usual, my hand started glowing, and the cut faded away. "Where else?" She lifted up her shirt partly, hand, glow, heal. She pulled down her jeans, hand, glow, heal. "Anymore?" I asked. "No, thanks." she answered. "No problem." I said. After a long silence, maybe about three hours, I brought to mind a song that I remember hearing when I was sad. I couldn't remember who sang it or when it was released but I enjoyed it. "Sometimes I feel, like I don't have a partner. Sometimes I feel like my only friend, is the city I live in. The city of Angels, lonely as I am, together we cry......" I waited a little bit, she was looking at me. I could tell she knew the words. One, two, three, "I don't ever want to feel, like I did that day. Take me to the place I love, take me all the way." I watched and listened as she finished the chorus, her voice was so soft and flawless. I looked at the quicly rising moon. I fell asleep. I dreamt of music. "Psycic spies from China try to steal your minds elation, and little girls from Sweden dream of silver screen quotations and if you want these kind of dreams is Californication. It's the edge of the world and all of western civilization. The sun may rise in the East at least it settles in the final location. It's understood that Hollywood sells Californication. I dreamed, the silhouette came back. This time, it stayed.
